Speed-Freekz Project Firebird part 2 <for the 56kers>
MUCH BETTER!
i would like to announce...THE MOTOR IS IN!
tonight started much better then last nights, after a run during my lunch hour i got the correct Flywheel bolts, and a few other nick knacks for the bird..i am determined all night..this motor WILL go in tonight.
Out of the many motors i have put into a car...yes, they have all been normal motors, no real performance.. but i have never had one SET TO RIGHT!
the actual mating of the engine with the trainee went with NO FLAW at all a bolt in the chain, a nice slight angle, a jacked up trannie, and a little give and take. ohhh, and some beer
slide in the motor mount bolts, bell housing bolts didn't so much as stick, all fingered in until it was time to tighten them, B&M bolted right up with NO problems. she is now....a whole car again!
one more week, and i'll be attaching a WAV file of her running.....Metal...i wanted to yell this for the longest time...
SHES ALIVE!!!! ALIVE!!!!!

Good deal. Let me know when you plan on firing it up. I'll swing by and help out.

o.k. kewl...with the wound now healed...mostly and the new Y-Pipe in, the hookers are in nice.
I was extreamly impressed with the Hooker y-pipe. it totally replaces the Cat pipe and flowed perfectly into place, with the hooker headers now fully on, Y-pipe to the rest of the exsaust system. The wire looms are now into place. The new fuel like with presure gauge on, this car is comming together very well now...she may even make her new maden voyage to DnD this weekend....
maybe
some tuning is needed and tires need to be mounted...and she needs a hell of a bath!
very close guys...very close...heres some up to date pics

Now, here's what i want to know. Who the hell would go out and buy Edelbrock headers and Y-pipes? Talk about junk. Check this out.
Look at the restriction right at the join. Look at the difference with the new pipe. No restriction at all. I swear, the stock manifolds probably flowed better than those old things.
Sorry Trevor, couldn't help it.

on a third gen Birdbird / Camaro, you need a Y pipe to channel the exaust through th eonly channel in the car....
long story short. no X pipe. just a nice big fat 3" single pipe....
