 Project Firebird....the "fun continues"Welp, so far everything...as far as building the firebird has gone together with little problem...short of the whole "Torque converter horror"
The engine finally looks like just that, an engine. minus the top end...can't put on that intake yet. for the last week however. it's been one nightmare after another. this doesn't match up with that, this is missing, thats lost, where did that go...i'm sure you all know the drill.. and tonight continues. I spent the last few days ...ummm....."detailing" the motor. a little back story. when i was young. as all of us that are in disfunctinal familys do...i found myself ocupied in a hobbie....mine...big surprise...was building model cars and planes... but i wasn't happy with just that....i had to detail them as much as passable...i painted the engines, distributer, bolts, underside, shocks...everything! I airbrushed planes with wear and tear. I even painted mud on the skid sides of my cars... hell, i took 2 months lighting up a 22' model of the enterprise once to watch it get smashed......well...enough with the memory lane shit fast forward to this past week. I spend the time detailing the 355, yes, you heard me, i detailed a real motor. Red block, Yellow bolts, Chrome parts, highlighted raised lettering on the motor. you know what, for the time i did it, i was 10 years old, sitting in my room, without a bill, worry, care, anything... i really enjoyed it. even if i do catch shit for it. The motor was ABOUT to go in tonight...however..much to my dismay, the fly wheel didn't line up..i had another one..it's a 1/2 inch bigger....fuck it, i'll shim the starter...i put in on and grab the flywheel bolts... they're too small 
The motor now sits on my garage floor. pretty as a picture...but not in the car...tomorrow, i hunt for bolts...god damned! The pictures that follow. are the detailing work. Last edited by Khyron on Fri Jun 11, 2004 10:03 pm, edited 1 time in total. |
