Had to bring the Jeep in to the dealer today for an oil change (don't get me started - it's to maintain warranty coverage).
At any rate, they have a new Challenger on the showroom floor. It's a hemi model, in black with a lot of options.
Since I had some time to kill I checked it out some.
I have to say it is a good looking car!
I heard the interior was more or less out of the 300 but having owned a '74 Cuda I immediately picked up on a lot of little styling cues that reminded my of my old E-body.
Overall the car looks very cohesive and mean with its big rims and dark hues. The CF-lookalike rally stripe was a bit sketchy but I suppose it is a modern take on the matte black stripes of the 70's.
Price on the floor was in the $44K range. Of course that is ridiculous but then again so is the asking price of a restored E-body. Or even a POS backyard relic that needs new everything. The new car probably won't appreciate in value like the old one did but who knows?
