Charger is running like shit..
Car is sputtering out the exaust and through the carb when I give it gas.
Replaced the plugs, Carb, wires, ect. Can't seen to get this issue resolved.
I rejetted the carb to a set of 72s. Adjusted the floats... and went as far as upgrading to a MSD-6AL box. WTF is this things problem? It's fouling out plugs like there is no tommorow.
I changed the carb to another used one but I think that one may be crapped out too... this is pissing me off

was it running good for you at first or have you been fighting this the whole time?
if you are pressurizing the carb....timing? or perhaps a leaking intake valve? could also be a blown head gasket between cylinders...
i'd hit it with a timing light since it's real quick and easy...and if that's ok do a quick compression check on all the cylinders.

Intake isn't leaking, tested with the ol carb spray trick. Timing is dead on and thats not skipping.
It was running fine. then it kinda fell to hell

i was thinking between cylinders... not to the water jacket...
that's my bet unless you find an intake valve not sealing for some reason... either one plays havoc with a carb.
in any event, a compression check will rule either of the above out. i've got a compression gage if you need to borrow it.

My 2 cents, HOLLEYS suck.!!!.Powervalves blow out easy.I have a 650 Carter afb, needs rebuild. yours for $40. Ran my dodgefor about 5 years no probs.Overheated the sucker and now she leaks out most of the gaskets.
You spent all that time and $$ on your car... suck it up and buy a new carb. NOT A HOLLEY. mother mopar didnt put holleys on there cars for a reason.

now , now !! I had trouble with two holley carbs brand new ones , but third time was a charm.....never had a problem with the last holley!! Keep your chin up , but honestly buy a new holley.....it sounds to me like a definate carb prob.
if you want to put power to the street buy a holley if you just want it to run.....buy a carter!!

I have a new carb out the box. Tested it and car still has the problems. Returned carb. Not the problem.
I replaced the distributer and wires. Car is running a bit better now. I reset the gap in the distributer <not points...electric> and just bought some new plugs ... these fouled out as well, so this is my 4th set of plugs. Got some new wires also.
I redid all the electrical that had to do with the ignition system and replaced the ignition coil as well.
Problem is...while I'm tracking down issues the car is fouling up the plugs...then no matter what I do the car still runs bad... So this time I'm going to replace it all at once.
Also. as for the oil / head gasket. I ran a compression check on all cylinders. The lowest was 120psi and the highest was 130... fortunatly... it's not a head gasket or a bad valve.
I do have to say a big Thanks to Vintage... George let me bowwor about a grand worth of stuff from his car and tookbox to track this down. Nothing makes me more nervious then putting someone elses $600 distributer in my car

Is timing set to recomended time? If so advance it abit. She will leen out and give more punch off the line.
