B'Spa car show slated for next Sunday
BALLSTON SPA -- One of the village's claims to fame is being a location for the filming of 'The Way We Were,' the 1973 Oscar-winning Sydney Pollack film that starred Robert Redford and Barbra Streisand.
Old cars, however, not old movie stars, will be the highlight of the village's third annual 'The Way We Were' car show, to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9.
At Monday night's Village Board meeting, Mayor John Romano reported that Front Street will be closed that day from Milton Avenue to the Iron Spring, and Low Street will be blocked at the alleyway.
If there's an overflow of vintage cars and trucks and food vendors, Front Street will also be closed from Charlton Street to West High Street. Bath Street will remain open for emergency access.
Concession stands will be located at Wiswall Park and the Iron Spring.
The car show is sponsored by the Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association.
'I can remember when some of those cars were new,' Romano said
